Tomorrow is March. Can you believe in it? I’m trying to be true to my word, so remember how I said I was going to be doing a abs and squat challenge in March? I created one. Rather than copy some of the arm and squat challenges out there, I really wanted to personalize this challenge and pick the workouts. It took me all week to create the schedule for the challenge and then make it into a printable. Literally all week, because I started in one computer program, hated the way it looked, so then I decided to try another program that I’ve never used before and it worked! I also had to consult with my trainer to find the best arm and squat exercises. But finally it’s done!
You can download and print a pdf version here 30-Day Abs and Squat Challenge.
The only equipment you will need for the challenge is a chair and a set of weights. I started the challenge off a little easy the first 4 days, but if you feel like you can fly through the routine, then I would recommend doing it two times. For weights, I’d suggest using 10 lbs. or more.
For the first week the challenge includes pushups, bicep curls, and tricep dips. I really did NOT want to include tricep dips because I hate them, but my trainer really recommended them for the arms, so they are a part of the challenge (BOO). For the booty, it’s all about the squats, so we’ll be doing basic squats and sumo squats. If you aren’t familiar with a sumo squat, here’s a good visual comparison to a regular squat. In the second week, we’ll be doing hammer curls, shoulder press and air punches. If you and I make it past the first 15 days, we’re doing good. I’ve spiced up the squats a little in the last two weeks adding in a side kick and a high kick.
So hopefully you’ll join me in the challenge. Send me a tweet @YoSoyYayaR or tag me on Instagram.
