So I have a confession. I’m a procrastinator. I was nominated for this really cool blogging award called the Liebster Award by Samantha from Grace, Love and Coffee. And then I forgot to blog about it. Then today I found out I was nominated for the award again by Megan from The Busy Life. So thank you both Samantha and Megan. Procrastinate is over.I’m sure you might be wondering what the Liebster Award is about. It’s an award given to new bloggers, usually for those who have less than 200 followers, by other bloggers as a way to support each other in our journey to growing and building our blogs.
WHAT ARE THE RULES?
- Post your award to your blog.
- Answer the questions you were given by the person who nominated you.
- Nominate a small group of other new bloggers you’ve discovered.
- Create 10 new questions for the nominees.
- Thank the blogger who nominated you and link their blog.
Since I was nominated by two bloggers, that means I have 20 questions to answer. (YAY me)
Why did you start your blog? What fueled your desire for a blog?
I started my blog in 2011 as a place to express myself and share random things I liked, like music and fashion. When I go back and look at some of my first blog posts, they were so amateur. I would throw up a quote or a picture of some boots I liked with 2-3 sentences and that was it. It was simple. Oh how I have evolved…
Who are some of your favorite bloggers and why?
My favorite bloggers currently are Roni from Style & Poise, Atlantic Pacific, Courtney from What Courtney Wore and Ree from The Pioneer Woman (have you seen her recipes – YUMMY)
What are your short-term and long term goals for your blog?
Short term goals is to increase participation of my Motivation Monday Pep Rally and a successful launch of my Meal Prep link party.
Long term goal is to find a way to create passive income on the blog and increase readership.
What is your ideal morning routine?
Waking up and actually making it to the gym for a good workout. Enjoying a good omelet or fruit smoothie and then no traffic on the way to work OR working from home.
How do you incorporate blogging in your schedule?
I’m still trying to work out a good blogging schedule. I’d love to write a few posts on Sunday and just schedule them out for the week. That doesn’t happen right now. My schedule right now usually consist of me writing a post the day or night before. And sometimes at work when it’s slow.
What’s your favorite city and why?
Chicago, hands down. I HATE the cold and wind, but love the food – deep dish pizza, Garrett’s popcorn and ribs. Also Chicago is like home. I have family there and family 30 minutes outside of Chicago. Plus, I always get in some really good shopping in the city.
What’s the easiest and hardest part about blogging for you?
Hardest thing about blogging is being transparent. I’m never fake, but it’s hard to open up about my personal life or personal experiences, but I really want my readers to be able to relate to me, so I know transparency is a necessity.
Easiest thing is sharing things that I love with my audience. Like recipes and products. If I find a good thing, I want to share it with everyone else.
What is your favorite leisure activity to do?
Shopping? Can that be considered a leisure activity? If not, then definitely traveling. I get this emotional high just getting on a plane.
What motivates you to continue blogging?
I love sharing things that I love, whether it be quotes, recipes or products. Also, I want to inspire others to keep dreaming and reach goals that might be a little fearful.
Relationship status? Any kids (2 or 4 legged)? Married, dating, or single?
Ehhh. I am single. It feels fresh and new, probably because I still have deep feelings for my ex, but I am totally single and taking applications for a new boo. LOL
What kind of niche do you have & why?
My niche. Hmm, I think I am still carving out my niche. Ask me again at the end of the year.
Least favorite household chore?
Cleaning. So let me explain, I LOVE to wash dishes even though I have a dishwasher, but all the other parts that come with cleaning a house, Ugh. When I was younger my mom owned a cleaning business and she is a CLEAN FREAK. I learned how to wax floors, wipe down walls, and clean out the fridge. I can clean, but it’s not my favorite thing to do at ALL.
Coffee or tea? Coffee
When do you work best?
I would say early morning because I tend to wake up so early these days, but I can put in the midnight oil and stay up all night if I have the energy.
Favorite time of year? Fall and Spring. I love them both
Where you do find your inspiration?
Inspiration comes from everyday life. I could be driving down the street and see something that inspires me. Or listening to music and get inspired. So anything and everything can inspire me.
Favorite TV show right now?
Hmm, Idk. I love reality TV so I watch a little bit of everything, but I don’t have a must-watch show.
If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be?
One thing? World peace?
Val from Unapologetically Us
Normel from Normel Talks
Arlett from Chasing Joy
Chelly from Chelly Rainbow
Tanay from Life with Tanay
Maya from Style Delegate
Kim from Thistle Dew Fit
Michele from September Four
