As the summer winds down, my travel schedule is actually revving up, so in the next couple weeks I’ll be sharing a lot of my travel tips like my favorite travel apps, my tips for a perfect plane/travel outfit (this is so real) and today: my beach bag essentials.
The beach is hands down one of my favorite places to be in the summertime or any time for that matter. My dream house would totally overlook the beach. Now that my second beach day of the summer is scheduled and my vacation flight is booked, I’m sharing my list of beach day essentials.
S’well bottles are a MUST at the beach since it keeps your drinks cold for 24 hours. Perfect for when you’re spending all day out in the sun. If you’re not loving the S’well price tag, you can check out this less expensive version.
Stay hydrated while in the sun. If you’re like me and want to sneak liquor in your S’Well, then make sure you bring some bottles of water too. My girls and I also like to bring fruit and veggies, plus cookies/brownies, chips and non-chocolate candy; so few healthy snacks and a few unhealthy ones too.
This pouch is perfect to protect your phone from the water and sun.
Mini Speakers/Ear Phones
I carry headphones wherever I go, but these Vasa Bla by Sudio are perfect for the beach because they connect to your devices by Bluetooth and you can control your phone with a remote. But if you’re into sharing your music, then make sure you bring some mini speakers. I recently purchase the Insignia portable Bluetooth speaker while it was on sale and it was the best $10 ever spent.
I bring my iPad for reading books or magazines and I’m usually using my iPhone for music, so a Power Bank with double ports is oh so necessary. You can’t have your phone dying right before you take the perfect beach selfie. Plus you can always share the extra port with a friend.
A stylish beach towel is necessary for laying on the beach or drying off after getting in the water. I’m also loving those round beach towels that have been popping up lately. Those are great to use as a blanket on the sand, instead of the standard bed sheets that we usually use. #dontJudgeMe
A Sun Hat
A hat at the beach is always a good added protection for your face and you look super stylish at the same time. I’ve been in love with the Eugenia Kim “Do Not Disturb” sun hat, but it’s too expensive for my pockets. Born + Made has some cute alternatives that won’t your pockets as much.
Because chapped lips on the beach is just not sexy. And you gotta be fresh for those selfies! I love the Mentha lip collection from Bath and Body Works and when I want a pop of color Highball from Colour Pop.
Hand Sanitzer is another must at the beach because who likes sandy hands when you’re trying to eat a snack. I really love the antibacterial hand spray from Bath and Body Works because it doesn’t give you that sticky feeling that some of the gels give you.
Oil Absorbing Sheets
Because no one likes an oily face.
For those times when you want your hair out of your face.
You have to have this on deck if you plan to lay in the sun, JUST IN CASE you get sunburned. Thankfully, since I take every opportunity to stay out the sun, I’ve never needed aloe.
My girls and I usually rent an umbrella from the beach, but if I had this now SOLD OUT beach tent from West Elm, I’d never need to rent an umbrella again. I’m loving this tent and hating the fact that it’s not available anymore. Since it’s sold out, I’ll guess I’ll have to settle on this cute pink pop up shade alternative and the speakers that matched the tent.
So now that I’ve shared my beach bag essentials, tell me what are yours?
