Right after I dropped my bestie Faar off at the airport, I had to rush home, finish packing and catch a flight to Michigan. I usually like to get to the airport 2 hours before a flight, so I am not rushing, but that didn’t happen this trip.
I arrived in Grand Traverse, Michigan into the 2nd smallest airport I’ve been too. (The first is in Wisconsin.) I think the airport only has 4 gates and 1 gift shop. Look at how empty the airport was:
After arriving in Grand Traverse, I traveled to Acme, Michigan and stayed at the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa. If you are ever in the area, Grand Traverse is the place to stay. The customer service is excellent and the property is gorgeous. Views are breathtaking.
On the way to Grand Traverse from the airport, I got to take in the sights of Michigan and was amazed at the color of the water in Lake Michigan. I had to remind myself that I was still in the United States, Michigan for that matter.
Do you see how bluish-green the water is? I was truly amazed.
More after the jump
After checking into the resort, this was in the elevator:
I was disappointed we would not be around on Thursday for Ladies night. Who doesn’t love $1 cocktails?
The sunset seems to set so late in Michigan. Most days I was so tired, I’d get into bed while it was still bright outside.
More pictures of Lake Michigan below.
My digital camera has so many settings, I tried to use the nighttime setting to capture how pretty the lake was at nighttime, but this is all I got. Does anyone know how I can make these pictures look better?
I used Instagram on my iPhone to edit this picture.
