If you are fitness and/or health conscious, then you have probably invested in or thought about investing a fitness tracker. There are so many options for trackers and every time I think I’ve picked out the one I want, then I learn about a new one. Indecisiveness is just one of the reasons why I haven’t bought a tracker. The other two are cost – it’s definitely an investment, but you will get your monies-worth and 2. when I am hot, I don’t want anything around my wrist. So once I start sweating, I will more than likely take the tracker off – which totally defeats the purpose because once it’s off, I’m not “tracking” anything. [Read more…]
I took an unexpected blogging break, but I’m back. I’ve been busy with school and still searching for a job. My hard work with school has paid off because I made the Dean’s list and I was invited to join the collegiate honor society. YAY me!
June is all about challenges to me. I haven’t been working out like I planned and I really need to get back to my squats, so I’m doing the squat challenge. My booty needs it.
This week I have to do two things I don’t want to do: a re-do and visiting the Social Services office. I’m the type of person who likes to do things ONCE the right way and not half-ass it. Last week, I was sick, so I’m starting Week 2 of T25 over. I only managed to work out twice since I was so sick, so instead of cheating myself, I decided to do the week over.
I also have to go back to the Social Services office. UGH. I swear, parts of the “system” are so frustrating. I think they are designed to force people to give up and not seek the necessary assistance. I keep getting the run around with Social Services or requests for information I have already given them, so today I am just going up there to have a face-to-face with someone. #prayforme [Read more…]
The weekends go by way too quickly.
Saturday morning I spent a couple hours with a 3-year old. I STRUGGLED getting her out the car seat. #noshame The first time I tried, I could only undo one latch of the car seat and gave up. The second time, I couldn’t undo anything and gave up. I just walked away like, “This is why I don’t have any children.” Everyone just laughed at me. When the 3-year old’s grandma finally got her out of the car she says “I’m free. I’m free.” LOL #cutestkid
If you follow me on Instagram then you know I ran/walked in the Living Social 5K Dance Party, Saturday night at RFK Stadium in DC. I swear the course seemed LONG as ever. With the first 5K I ran, you couldn’t see the entire course at one glance, but for this one you could. I think looking at how far we had ran and how much more we had to go made it run seem so daunting. Something I will have to keep in mind if I run another 5K in DC because of a lot of them seem to be held at RFK Stadium. Overall I had a good time. Got to catch up with my girl Alisha (great running partner) and the after party was pretty fun. I wish all 5Ks had an after party with a bar. Makes sense to dance a little bit after you run because your adrenaline is already pumping.
