This post is sponsored by Everywhere Agency on behalf of Macy’s; however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
If you’re a frequent reader of the blog, then you may remember that last October, I attended a Culinary Council event at Macy’s hosted by a celebrity chef. So I am super excited to be attending another Culinary Council event on Wednesday, April 26, 2017. This event will take place at Macy’s Metro Center in Washington, DC starting at 5:30 p.m. and it will feature celebrity pastry chef Dana Herbert. Chef Dana is a past winner of TLC’s Cake Boss Next Great Baker. If you aren’t familiar with his pastries, you can check out the goodies here and here.
You already know how I feel about pastries and desserts. Not only do I love to eat them, I also love to bake them. Baking is so therapeutic and rewarding. One of my favorite desserts to make is Bacardi Rum cake. The recipe for this cake is so moist and flavorful, guests are guaranteed to come back for seconds. I also recently mastered the White Chocolate Strawberry Pie; I’ll be sharing that recipe real soon.
I can’t wait to attend this culinary council event because a.) I love a man that can cook/bake. b.) Chef Dana will be sharing stories, culinary secrets, and techniques on preparing some of his favorite dishes. Plus, the theme of the event is Passport DC, which highlights the great and diverse diplomatic community the area has. You’ll get to travel the world, visiting different stations at the event, tasting and learning about different cultures without ever leaving the city. I’m all about travel, especially internationally, so this will be a fun event.
Oh, and did I mention that the event is free? Also, all attendees will receive a $10 Macy’s Gift Card at the event. Chef Dana will also be signing copies of his book Sweet and Savory Union. So if you’re in the DC area, go RSVP here NOW. I’ll be at the event stuffing my face and tweeting, so if you see me, don’t be a stranger!
