Happy Monday. I hope you had a great weekend. As always, it went by too quickly. I’m honestly not excited to be at work today. And here is why:
Last week started out good and then things got crazy. Mid-morning on Monday someone in my department was let go. I was definitely shocked and immediately felt sad for this person because I really liked her. And because she worked so close to me, her getting let go brought me right back to the time when I lost my job 2 years ago. Not a good feeling at all. Monday night I had a hard time sleeping. I kept tossing and turning and all I could think about was, “How can I make money? I need to diversify my income.” I woke up Tuesday morning stressed.
Then Wednesday, another person in the company was let go. At this point everyone was on high alert. And those recipes that I promised would get shared, were not shared because I couldn’t focus. By Friday afternoon, I was completely paranoid, worried that I might be the next person let go. I swear Kanye’s song Paranoid kept playing in my head, “Why are you so paranoid? Don’t be so paranoid.” Thankfully I was not let go and I still have a job. However, last week’s experience totally reinforced my desire and need to diversify my income. I cannot rely on just one paycheck. My desire to be my own boss has become even more real now. I’m using the paranoia as motivation. So in the next couple weeks I am going to be super focused on finalizing my business plan, possibly re-doing my logo, seeking a business coach and finding a biz bestie/accountability partner. If anyone is looking for a biz bestie, send me and email and let’s chat. And I’ll try to share my struggles and success along the way.
So hopefully you guys had a better week than me. I’m determined to make this week a good one. So here’s some motivation for your Monday.
I’m all about taking chances to get to where I want to be.
I’m going into this week and into March with this attitude:
So for now, I’m going to..
Before you go, remember last week I mentioned i would be doing a fitness challenge next month? Check back a little later this morning and I’ll be sharing the challenge. And I hope you guys join in. Do you any have any plans or goals to get ready for spring?
