Hope everyone had a great day off. I managed to get to the gym for the third time this week. Whoop whoop. And even though I am back in the gym, I’m trying to make sure that my diet doesn’t slack. If you follow me on Snapchat, you’ve seen my mini meal prep videos. But some days are really busy, especially on weekends when I work and don’t really have time to cook. So I was really excited to have an opportunity to try the Bumble Bee Superfresh® line. Bumble Bee SuperFresh® is a complete line of naturally-seasoned, restaurant quality, “fish-forward” prepared seafood solutions for the home. Being from New England and a major seafood lover, so I was definitely skeptical of what Bumble Bee SuperFresh® could offer. But it totally raises the bar for what seafood lovers can expect from frozen food!
All their seafood is no mess, and no fuss; just pure perfection, time after time. The premium Salmon and Tilapia come their own parchment paper baking pouches and go from freezer to table in under 25 minutes. The parchment paper was one of my favorite touches. I took the fish out the package, saw the paper and thought “Oh Bumble Bee is official!” The seafood is high in protein, richly seasoned with pure and simple ingredients that lets the fish shine through!
Last Thursday, I was super tired after work and really didn’t feel like cooking, but felt like this would be a great opportunity to try the Tilapia with Lemon, Pepper & Herbs. I decided to pair the tilapia with garlic mushroom quinoa and my super yummy parmesan roasted green beans & mushrooms. Since the fish cooks in about 15 minutes, I started making with the quinoa first, as that would take the longest time and then prepared the green beans. Once the green beans were finish, I put the fish in the oven.
I have to say that I LOVE the fact that you do NOT have to thaw out the fish. The fish is sealed in easy-to-open plastic pouches. Once you remove the fish from the pouch, you put it into the parchment paper and make it like a pocket. Put the fish in a shallow dish and cook in the oven for about 14 mins. Just like that, dinner is done! Never has it been so easy and delicious to enjoy a delicious Premium Tilapia fillet! Bumble Bee SuperFresh® Tilapia has ground black pepper, fresh garlic, sea salt and extra olive oil – making every flaky bite fantastic!
I love the fact that the fish tasted fresh and the tilapia has no preservatives. My mother would approve. There truly was NO fishy smell, even the next day when I re-heated the second piece. Which is super important to me because my office is very opening and we are constantly getting reminder about being mindful of the foods we bring in for lunch.
The only change I made the next day was adding a little bit more seasoning to the tilapia. I’m a girl who loves flavors, so the while the seasonings were good, I just needed a little more. But other than that, I am a fan and will definitely be purchasing this again. I even went to work the next day and told my co-workers about Bumble Bee SuperFresh®.
I was so impressed with the tilapia that I decided to make a quick lunch on Saturday using the Bumble Bee SuperFresh® Salmon with Garlicky Black Pepper and Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Again, the seafood was cooked frozen, no thawing necessary (#winning). I paired that with some parmesan and broccoli orzo. Wah-la, lunch was made in less than 30 minutes. LOVE IT!
