Hey party people. Sorry I have been M.I.A. the past week and a half. I had a big conference for work that was held in Philadelphia. I also ran production on my first event. It was exciting and a little nerve racking and now we are prepping for our next event in January. Due to extreme tiredness and lack of planning, I wasn’t able to post like I normally do, but I’m back!
If you follow me on Twitter, you may have seen a few of my tweets about a family-owned soap company called SallyeAnder. The company is almost as old as me (and I’m kinda old LOL) and based in New York. Their products are really unique because they use olive oil or soy as a base and never use parabens, alcohols, sodium laurel sulfates. All products utilize edible ingredients.
Now I have to be honest. When I first heard “edible ingredients”, my first thought was, “Ooh I wonder if I can eat the soap”. #dontjudgeme and don’t try to eat the soap! Not so tasty
I’ve teamed up with the company to try out a new soap each month and share my reviews. SallyeAnder sent me a great welcome package that included several of their products. I received contained a soap saver (if you use the soap saver, the bars of soap are said to last for a couple of months) and a shea butter & olive oil lip balm (which I just discovered because I totally missed it in the box the first time). I will definitely be keeping this lip balm on deck as the weather gets cooler. A girl can never have chapped lips.
They also sent No-Bite-Me all-in-one preventive & after-bite cream. This cream is a blend of 16 essential oils including Cedar, Mint, Lemongrass, and Geranium oils. The cream is good protection against black flies, mosquitoes, fleas and ticks. I wish I had received this cream earlier in the year, would have been handy during the summer months. But I will still get to try it out next month to prep for a nature hike I’m going on with my girls. I also received their Organic Rose soap and their Hogwash soap, which I am super excited to use. The Hogwash is a chunky soap is made of a blend of blend of all their soaps and cornmeal. It smells really good and it’s said to get out your toughest laundry stains. I’m walking it to my washing machine now, so I can use it the next time I was clothes. So I’ll definitely report on the results.
On my return home from Philly, I was super excited to see a SallyeAnder box waiting for me. I was secretly hoping that a Pumpkin Spice bar was inside and it was! Let me tell you, if you love the smell of Pumpkin Spice, this soap is for YOU! It smells so good and the scent is more fragrant each time I use it. The ONLY disappointing thing is that SallyeAnder doesn’t make a pumpkin spice lotion to go with the soap. Seriously I wanted the scent to continue after I got out the shower. And these days I find myself making any excuse to take a shower just so I can use the soap. Good thing I don’t pay a water bill. Remember if you love pumpkin spice, you need this soap.
SallyeAnder has a lot of other really great products that I want to try like the Apple Crisp soap and the Under Eye Cream (goodbye dark circles).
Ooh and if you want something natural that removes odors like garlic or seafood, check out their soapuccino.
I’m a total fan of SallyeAnder products and not because they sent them to me for free. Their soaps smell good, are all-natural and moisturizing. So rather than drying out the skin like some other soaps, they are actually moisturizing.
Please visit their website and do yourself a favor and some Pumpkin spice soap which is on SALE this month. And a BONUS, SallyeAnder is offering FREE SHIPPING to any of my followers. Just use the code YayaFree when checking out!
