Happy Tuesday. Yesterday I spent my entire day sitting at the hospital. My dad had surgery scheduled on his knee in the morning and the surgery took longer than normal, so we just sat and waited and waited. Going into the surgery I was positive about the outcome. But after 3 hours, I started getting a little nervous. When the receptionist said she had no update, that’s when the attitude was about to come out. I’m sitting with my mom and inside my head I’m saying, “Where is my daddy? Someone better get me an update” (attitude and all). Before approaching the receptionist again, I said a little prayer and then calmly walked over to her and asked for a status of how the surgery was going. She made a couple of phone calls and found out the surgery started later than scheduled. And as I was standing there, my dad’s doctor appeared to give my family and update. Things went well and the surgery was successful. Thank you Jehovah!
This week’s motivation is all about mindset. Yesterday I walked into the hospital calm and confident and after a few hours of no news, I started to panic. Why? Because I allowed my mindset to shift. For me, prayer is everything. Whenever I have doubts, fear or need strength, I pray. If I need encouragement I like to talk to friends who are uplifting and upbuilding. When I need extra motivation or that extra push, I like to talk to entrepreneurs or bloggers who are out there really accomplishing their dreams. All of this talk really helps me put myself in the right mindset for whatever I am trying to achieve.
Having the right mindset is key to whatever goals you have. Whether it’s simply to wake up earlier in the morning to go to the gym, find ways to make more money or free up your schedule to have more time to do the things you love. It’s all about the mindset. You know that saying, “If you believe it, then you can achieve it!” Believe in yourself and the rest will follow.
When they say you can’t, they show you their limits. NOT yours.
Mindset is what separates the best from the rest
Work hard in silence, let success make the noise.
So how is your mindset? What do you do when you need encouragement? How do you get extra motivation to pursue your dreams?
