Happy 2016! We are four days in and I’m excited to see what the year holds. I was happy to say goodbye to 2015. Last year was a year of transition from unemployment to re-employment. To living a cushy life with a nice salary to being dependant on social services to barely making it each month. So I want more out of 2016.
If you’re a #planneraddict like me, then you’ve probably spent the couple of weeks setting up your planner for year. I honestly went back and forth for weeks over which planners to buy for the year to help keep me organized in the new business, the blog and life. I wasn’t able to find one that I really felt fit my needs, so I think I’ll be creating my own very soon. However the planner in me could NOT start the year with nothing, so I’ll share my planners hopefully later this week. I spent all day Saturday organizing one of them for the next six months, so I still need to work on my personal planner hopefully tonight.
Besides trying to find the perfect planner, I’ve been writing goals, quotes and planning ways to make 2016 a good year. If you follow my business account Hyi Society on IG, then you’ve seen the Sunday reminders that we post.
This one is definitely on my mind for 2016.
And after seeing this post on the Happy Black Woman, I was inspired to figure out my own personal mantra and theme song for 2016.
My Theme Song for 2016
Picking a song was easy. I love “F*ck Up Some Commas” by Future (excuse the language), but this song gets me hype and definitely in the mood to add some commas to my bank account that is thoroughly lacking right now. I’ve never seen the video, but if you want to listen or watch, here it is.
My Mantras for 2016
I had to pick two mantras because I think both of them will help me push myself past my fears. It’s important for me to show more self-confidence and really believe that I can accomplish everything I dream about each day.
And this sums me up so perfectly for 2016. I’m trying to level up in every facet of my life. I’ve already told my partner that this includes him. I plan on pushing him up a level and out of his comfort zones as well. Might as well grow together.
Words for 2016
I also chose to do words that I hope sum up what 2016 will be about for me. I hope to be able to inspire others and be inspired and also see growth in myself, my life, my family and my friends.
So have you chosen a thing song or mantra for 2016? If so, I’d love to hear what they are.
