Around October of last year, I started thinking about what I wanted to do differently for the blog in 2016. I knew I wanted to dabble in the style and fashion side of blogging, but being the shy person that I am, I hate drawing attention to myself. I also hate being in front of the camera, unless I’m taking selfies. However, since 2017 is all about stepping outside of my comfort zone, I decided to proceed with the idea.
I’ll be sharing my first style post this week, but before I do, I wanted to give you a little info about my personal style and taste.
How would I classify my style?
My style honestly depends on my mood or the occasion. One day I will wake up ready to slay the day and be super fashionable. Other days (like today), I am so tired, I throw on anything just to get out the house and be present wherever I need to be. So, I’m a mixture of classic, casual and glam. I love to throw on a cute dress with some sneakers or slip-on. I fractured a bone in my foot years ago after a jet-ski accident and since then, my feet don’t really love heels. So if I wear them, it will be for an hour or two and then I’m swapping them out for flats. My flats collection is crazy. Not sure how to define your style? My favorite Celebrity Style Crush
I’ve covered Olivia Palermo here and here on the blog. This girl’s style is amazing. I haven’t posted anything on her recently (maybe I should). But trust me, she kills it every time she steps out the house.
Favorite Fashion Blogger
Hands down, Blair from Atlantic Pacific popped into my head. She’s another woman whose style I LOVE. If I could play in her closet for a week, I would be in heaven.
My personal style must-haves
Leggings; I love to wear them all the time. They are super comfy and that’s probably why I have at least 15-20 pairs. I also love a good statement necklace. You can probably find me on the weekends in leggings, oversized sweatshirt and a statement necklace. Comfy chic!
The last thing I bought and loved
I haven’t actually been shopping in a few weeks. I know, shocking. But I was gifted an amazing dress by Eloquii, which you will soon see on the blog.
And the thing I’m eyeing next
The indulgences I would never forgo
Louis Vuitton and Chanel purses, Bond No. 9 perfume, chocolate and chicken wings. Oh, wait and I can’t forget wine.
The first items I gravitate to when shopping
Accessories. I am obsessed with accessories. I have a space in my bedroom that looks like an accessories store, which various areas dedicated to jewelry, scarves, and purses.
A beauty staple I’m never without
Kiehl’s Ultra Facial cream. Best moisturizer ever for my dry skin.
The last music I’ve downloaded
Big Sean’s cd, “I Decided” and some African music. I’ve been really tired lately, so these African beats is giving me life. Literally.
In my fridge you’ll always find
Chocolate candy, a bottle of wine, La Croix sparkling water and a green veggie – either broccoli or kale.
If I didn’t live in the Washington, DC metro area,
I would love to live in London or Italy.
Last great meal I’ve had
Ask me again tomorrow night after I check out RPM Italian in DC. Can’t wait to try their Italian food.
So there you have it. Now that you know a little bit more about my personal style and taste, I can’t wait to share with you my first look. Until then, let me know what are your style must-haves?
