Happy Monday. Hope you had a great weekend. I spent all day yesterday at the beach, enjoy the cool breeze, beach waves and avoiding the sun. I had scheduled (or so I thought) this post to be shared yesterday afternoon in honor of National Ice Cream Day (observed July 17). But apparently, when you are blogging in the wee hours of the morning, sometimes you forget what day it is and posts get scheduled for the wrong day.
But when its going to be HOT all week, you might as well keep the ice cream celebration going. The weather for this upcoming weekend in the DC area (yes, I’m already wishing for the weekend again) is going to be 99˚ on Friday and 100˚ on Saturday and Sunday.
So I will be all about keeping cool this week and that involves, water, lots of water, gelato, Slurpees, and of course ICE CREAM. Ice cream for breakfast, ice cream for lunch and ice cream dessert later. If you’re looking for new ways to enjoy ice cream, here’s some of my favorite ice cream recipes and a few new ones I’ve recently discovered.
First up is Red Velvet Ice Cream with Cream Cheese swirl. I’m all about red velvet cake, so red velvet as an ice cream sounds yummy.
Who doesn’t love a good ice cream sandwich? Check out these Mini Mocha Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Sandwiches.
You guys already know I am a huge fan
addict of caramel. So I instantly started drooling when I saw on this Salted Chocolate Caramel Ice Cream Cake.
If you grew up around a Dairy Queen like I did or are a huge fan of them now, then you already know how great the Buster Bars are. I found this copy cat recipe recently and instantly got excited. This is definitely something I will definitely be testing out this summer.
Churros anyone? How amazing would ice cream be in warm Churro Ice Cream Bowls?
If you love the Samoa Girl Scout cookies, then I’m sure you’ll love this Samoa Cookie Ice Cream Cake.
Hopefully you got in on the National Ice Cream Day celebration yesterday. But if you didn’t, no worries, you have all week to indulge.
